My Buddy Wayne and I were talking about bike rides and such. He has been riding from Ashcroft to Highland Valley Mine, I wanted to join him on one of these pedals. On Sunday July 4th we are pedaling from Ashcroft to the Brake check about 18kms with about 3200 vertical feet of elevation. Its a free country so anyone who decides to join us is welcome. This is not a race or event, there is no insurance or liability. Ride at your own risk.

One of our fund raising drives for the bicycle festival is a cruiser bike draw with tickets going for two dollars each and there are only a thousand being printed. So get yours quick because sales will end September 15/09. The draw will take place at the festival on Saturday afternoon and the winner will get their choice of either the Men's or Ladies version of the Norco Sekine. |

I have been threatening to ride from CC. to Ashcroft over the pipe line through Schalles ranch and Desert Hills farm for a long time and since Neil had just finished an Ashcroft return ride before opening the shop this morning I thought hey it is Canada Day. So I threw on my CCCP hammer & sickle decked jersey, a hydration pack and headed out about 12:30 pm. |

Yes I know the updates are more helpful when they happen every month but that would require several more hours in the day, 24 just does not cut it. Some of the things that have been going on in the last little while are that we volunteered some time to the Graffiti Days with the drive in. Thank you to everyone that helped out and we also set up a table at the show and shine to let people know that there is a bike club. The Village of Cache Creek grant writer contacted Neil to supply more info on Bike society objectives to add into the funding request for the skills park and hopefully some trail building within Cache Creek. The Bike Festival is slowly moving ahead and I have obtained approval from all the businesses affected by the street closure. More news to come. |
