I thought instead of trying to drag people out to a meeting on Monday night I would just update you on the web. Firstly, the Village of Ashcroft sent a reply to our request for a bike fest on sept. 26/09 with the requirement for getting the okay of downtown businesses to closure of Railway Ave. between 3rd. and 5th. for the day and a $2,000,000.00 ins. policy. I have canvassed the businesses and so far received unanimous consent but I still have a couple to talk to. As well I stopped in at Interior ins. and Gail is checking on the policy.
I think it's probably about time to send a letter to Cache Creek counsel to get an update on the Skills park. As well last year we had talked about going after bicycle racks around Ashcroft and Cache Creek businesses so maybe I will add that to the letter also. Would any one be interested in helping out on a bicycle awareness talk at Ashcroft or Cache Creek Elem. Schools in the next little while? Pls. drop me an email if you are. Please talk up the bike society with your friends we need to grow as much interest as possible in creating the trail network and that requires members. Neil and I have been hitting the road and the trails in the past couple of weeks with a road trip to Ashcroft and back, a Woodburn ranch loop and a workout up to the top of Shalles ranch and back. If any one is interested in coming along on a ride just email or call the shop. If you don't have a trail ready rig we always have a spare bike or two kicking around. The weather should be awesome Monday evening so the ride starts about 6:45pm. from the bike shop. Cheers Gary |
